From left to right: Tim Moon, Niraj Amin, Tom Reed, Michelle Villa, Paul Dedona Niraj Amin - President Niraj Amin is a sales engineer at US Airconditioning Distributors, an HVAC distribution center for products like Carrier, Bryant, Payne and Heil. His territory covers all of Ventura, Santa Barbara and part of San Luis Obispo County. He started a technical assistant to the sales personnel in 1995 and was promoted to sales in 1997. Prior to his current position, he was a plastics design engineer for Rainbird sprinkler manufacturing. Tom Reed - Treasurer Tom is a Sheet Metal Worker out of Local 273 since 1984, working the last 14 years in Estimating and Project Management. Currently employed by Environmental Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. as Senior Estimator. Paul Dedona - Programs and students Chair Paul Dedona is a 20 year industry veteran and has served as a vendor and consumer of most HVAC technologies. His sales experience has been focused on air filtration, air distribution, fire/smoke dampers, and fans. Paul also worked as Regional Manager for Acutherm Therm-Fuser, and as Manager of Sales and Marketing for Vacom Technologies selling advanced controls for ammonia based refrigeration systems at cold storage facilities. He has held positions at the Director level in sales and marketing management as well. Paul has also worked as a project manager for Western Allied and as a Project Manager and Business Development Specialist for Meadows Sheet Metal.ASHRAE has always been a big and important part of Paul's career. He served as Programs Chairman for the Southern California Chapter and has had an involvement with chapters all over the state of California. He possesses a BA form California State University Northridge and is a professional recording artist. Michelle Villa - Program and students Co- Chair Michelle Villa is a second generation contractor specializing in the HVAC industry. She began as a field technician and completed her formal field training through the Local 250, Joint Journeyman and Apprenticeship program. Michelle has worked her way through the industry from the ground up, including owning a business until 2002. She has 27 years of experience and is now working for EMCOR Service, Mesa Energy Systems Inc. as a Project/Account manager. Hugh McTernan - Secretary/Newsletter Editor Hugh McTernan has worked as an engineer for AE Group since 1993 focusing primarily on school work. Prior to that Hugh was a solar and general contractor since 1979 installing thermal and photovoltaic solar system for homes and businesses in the Southern California Area. He serves on the Ventura County Air Pollution Advisory Board for the past 5 years working for cleaner air and to minimize climate change. He enjoys cycling, surfing, and travel. Tim Moon - Audio/Visual Tim Moon is a licensed mechanical engineer with 28 years experience in HVAC/Plumbing design. Tim formed Moon Engineering in 1994 and enjoys a successful engineering practice in Ventura. Tim is the founder of the Western Section of Southern California Chapter of ASHRAE. The inaugural meeting of the Western Section was February 13, 1996 with 25 participants signing the Section Charter. Tim received tremendous assistance and support from John Tamney and Clay Lampman (past president’s of the So. Cal. Chapter) is his efforts to establish the Western Section.
