PASSING of a PAST of CHAPTER PRESIDENT (1979)

BROOKS, Charles Chester (Chet) November 18, 1920-July 9, 2009 Chet passed away peacefully in the U.S. Veterans Hospital in Prescott, Arizona. Chet was the 1979 Southern California Chapter President and Life Member. He remained an active reader of SOLAIR following of chapter activities even after his 1994 retirement and his moving to Prescott, Arizona.
He is survived by his second wife Audrey, sons Charles Chester Jr., Lawrence and his wife Carolyn, and Jeffery and his wife Ellen Brooks, daughter Lisa Brooks, brother Earl Brooks, granddaughter Leanna Grant, great-grandson Tanner Grant, stepsons Robert, Michael, and John Gorham, stepdaughters Christine and Susan Gorham, and step grandchildren, Andrew and Julie Bowles, Erik and Michelle Emmermann, Shawna Anderson, Sonia Smith, and Matthew and Jessica Gorham.
Chet was born in St. Louis, Mo. He studied Mechanical Engineering at Harris Jr. College in St. Louis and Oregon State University.
He was assigned to the Corps of Engineers while serving in the army in Europe during WW II.
Chet practiced engineering in St. Louis until 1959 when he moved his family to Los Angeles where he worked as a Mechanical Engineer and vice president of the firm of Nack and Sunderland Engineers. Chet worked on many major projects such as Orange County Performing Art Center that utilizes one of the first ice on coil thermal storage system and low temperature air distribution.
Chet will be remembered for his witty sense of humor and inquisitive nature. He will be deeply missed by all.
Memorial services were held August 16th at Prescott’s Granite Peak Unitarian church.

It is with great sadness and a tremendous sense of loss that we are informing our friends, collages and business associates of the sudden passing of Kim Gregory, President / CEO of Hansen Mechanical Contractors, Inc. He passed away Tuesday evening, September 2nd of renal failure at The Ronald Regan Medical Center at UCLA after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in early August.
Memorial Services will be held for Kim Gregory Thursday, Sept 11, 2008 @ 4:00 PM ~ Red Rock Casino. Resort .Spa 1101 W Charleston Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89135 in the Charleston Ballrooms. A reception will immediately follow in the Pavilion Room @ the same location.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made in the name of Kim W. Gregory to Stop Cancer - LA.

April 18, 2008 With great sadness, we are sharing this news that Mrs. Joann Burke, wife of our President-elect Mr. Mike Burke, passed away this morning due to ailment. Joann was integral part of our chapter providing her support in many ways. May God bless her soul and family with eternal peace and courage.
