Our Pasadena, CA office is in need of a Senior Mechanical Engineer to assist with critical projects and to become an important part of our dynamic MEP practice.
The primary duty of the Senior Mechanical Engineer is to design and coordinate the HVAC work with the balance of a multi-disciplined team throughout the course of the entire project. You will maintain client relations, and be involved with marketing, design and production meetings with regard to mechanical systems. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will assume the Mechanical Lead on many projects. Participates in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance. Conducts schematic, design development and contract document work sessions at project site in conjunction with Project Manager, Project Architect and other disciplines. Coordinates workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule.
Requirements: Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Masters Degree in Architectural Engineering. PE is very strongly preferred. 15+ years experience in the mechanical design of HVAC systems for Healthcare and/or Civic/ Detention (Jails/ Prisons) facilities is preferred. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD. Demonstrated leadership skills, previous team coordination and project management experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm. Experience in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required.
